This is an Eternal Law of the Holy Priesthood of God; for those who become members into the church of the firstborn, who receive a fullness and dwell in the highest degree of the Celestial Kingdom and who follow the Lord worlds without end!
Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (Here Jesus is telling Peter of the Power that Jesus gave him when he ordained him using the Melchizedek Priesthood). Hebrews 5:6 states that Jesus held that High Priesthood...D&C 132 is ONLY for those who want a fullness as stated in the whole chapter and is a requirement into the church of the firstborn.
- Tangent: Why did Joseph and Emma deny polygamy? You have to study history to get this answer; Joseph did deny it many times but it meant something entirely different then today. Back then polygamy was like having a whorehouse or prostitution, people would share their women and force things, there was no commitment and etc..... I kid you not, that is what was going on and that is what Joseph and Emma denied. Read and learn church history, read the counsel of the minutes, read their journals... The higbys were the pimps of those times.... Joseph called the laws of multiple wives "Celestial Marriage."

-1 Chronicles 4:5 - and Ashur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
-2 Samuel 5:13 - And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
-2 Samuel 12:8 - And I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your arms and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And if this were too little, I would add to you as much more. (Here God is directly saying HE gave them!)
-2 Chronicles 11:21 - “And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)”
-2 Chronicles 13:21 - But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
-Exodus 21:10 - “If a man takes another wife for himself, he must not neglect the rights of the first wife to food, clothing, and sexual intimacy.
-Genesis 4:19 - And Lamech took two wives. The name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. -Genesis 30:3-4 Then she said, “Here is my maidservant Bilhah. Sleep with her, that she may bear children for me, so that through her I too can build a family.” 4 So Rachel gave Jacob her servant Bilhah as a wife, and he slept with her, 5 and Bilhah conceived and bore him a son.…
-Genesis 30:9 - When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife.
-Isaiah 4:1 - And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
-Judges 8:30-31 - And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives. 31 And his concubine that was in Shechem, she also bare him a son, whose name he called Abimelech.

-1 Samuel 1:1-2 - 1Now there was a certain man of Ramathaimzophim, of mount Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephrathite: 2And he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children. -Deuteronomy 21:15-17 - 15 If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated: 16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn: 17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.
-2 Chronicles 24:1-3 - Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Zibiah of Beersheba. 2 And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest. 3 And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begat sons and daughters.
-Ezekiel 23:1-4 - The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother: 3 And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity. 4 And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.
-Deuteronomy 25:5-10 - 5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her. 6 And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel. 7 And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother. 8 Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her; 9 Then shall his brother's wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house. 10 And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.
-1 Chronicles 3:1-9 - Now these were the sons of David, which were born unto him in Hebron; the firstborn Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second Daniel, of Abigail the Carmelitess: 2 The third, Absalom the son of Maachah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur: the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith: 3 The fifth, Shephatiah of Abital: the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife. 4 These six were born unto him in Hebron; and there he reigned seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years. 5 And these were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bathshua the daughter of Ammiel: 6 Ibhar also, and Elishama, and Eliphelet, 7 And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia, 8 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet, nine. 9 These were all the sons of David, beside the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister.
Moses was the husband of at least three wives. Zipporah was Moses’ first wife (Exodus 2:21), the Ethiopian woman was his second wife (Numbers 12:1), and Holy Scripture mentions Hobab, the Kenite as the father of Moses’ third wife (Judges 4:11). Abraham, the father of faith, the first Jew, was married to Sarah, Hagar, and Keturah; and Abraham also had many concubines who bore him many sons (Genesis 11:29, 16:3, 25:1, I Chronicles 1:32). “Unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son…” (Genesis 25:6). God greatly blessed Abraham and his seed. God also blessed Jacob (THE POLYGAMIST) who begat the fathers of the twelve tribes of Israel with two wives, Leah and Rachel, and two concubines, Bilhah and Zilpah (Genesis 29:23-30, 30:4-9, 32:22). Jacob needed deliverance from trouble, and wrestled all night with the Lord for His blessing of protection against his angry brother Esau. Jacob prevailed in his wrestling match with God (Genesis 32:23-30). The apple of God’s eye, the Psalmist David, most blessed of God, also through whom the Saviour of the world came, had many wives (II Samuel 3:2-5, 5:13). First Kings 15:5 states, “David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.” God blessed mighty Gideon (THE POLYGAMIST), “And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour” (Judges 6:12). “And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives” (Judges 8:30). “As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate” (Psalm 127:4-5). Elkanah, a Levite, the father of the prophet Samuel, had two wives, Hannah and Peninnah, and Elkanah was not a rich man (I Samuel 1:1-2). Abraham, Jacob (Israel), Moses, Gideon, David, Solomon, Elkanah, and many other chosen, beloved patriarchs and servants of God (saints) had many wives. The book of Hebrews states that the world was not worthy of these greats (THE POLYGAMISTS). “And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gideon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again, and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (OF WHOM THE WORLD WAS NOT WORTHY)” (Hebrews 11:32-38). “Now all these things happened unto them [THE POLYGAMISTS] for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come” (I Corinthians 10:11). All the Word of the Lord must be received into the heart, nothing rejected in order to receive life.
The scripture in the Book of Mormon on saying one wife was because if you pay attention to the story you'll learn that all they wanted to do is have sex with everyone and were wicked... thus the Lord commanded!
God states that it’s not good to be single (Genesis 2:18), and He therefore created marriage. If God created marriage, then marriage is not considered lewd, filthy, dirty, lustful, of the flesh, or sinful. If plural marriages are not approved, then why did God provide for them and make it an unbreakable, everlasting law? However, true, godly men would never pick and choose whom they would be married to; they would wait on the Lord. Marriages are made in Heaven. As the Lord and His bride is composed of many millions of redeemed souls, so also some godly men and their godly brides could be composed of two or more godly wives. Remember, this is the word of God, and, O man, and, O woman, O government, O sanctimonious churches, O Satan, does God’s law of polygamy offend you? “Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?” (Romans 9:20). And, “FOR WHO HATH KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE MAY INSTRUCT HIM?” (I Corinthians 2:16).
Jesus asked His disciples whether or not some of His words (the bread and drink of life, which includes polygamy) offended them, “When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?” Jesus asked His disciples, “Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life” (John 6:61, 67-68).

The marriage at Cana was Jesus' - it's in the details and traditions. The BRIDGROOM was always in charge of the Wine..... and who did the governor go and thank... JESUS.
In order to be a Rabbi you had to be married and at Jesus' time you had to be married to more then one. A Rabbi was a MASTER teacher... well how can you master all of God's laws if you never follow them?
Jesus was also married to Mary and Martha... how?... Well read the Laws of God and you will see that females whether little girls or grown women were ALWAYS protected and provided for by the father or husband AND were NEVER allowed to be put in danger, they were to be accompanied by family. Here in Luke 10:38 you have Jesus going into Mary & Martha's home (which was a BIG nono unless they were family or belonged to you) and if you pay ATTENTION to the conversation you will see that Martha complained to Jesus in the same way a wife would! Not to mention the FACT in the translation of Luke 10:38 were it says woman actually means WIFE!

Psalms 45 clearly states that God has multiple women -
6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;
7 you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness.
Therefore God, your God, has anointed you

8 your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia.
From ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad;
9 The daughters of kings are among your honored women; the queen stands at your right hand, adorned with the gold of Ophir.
at your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir. (However, this chapter is actually about one of the kings of the house of Israel when the northern tribes were wicked and prideful)
John 8:39–40 Jesus says to do the works of Abraham and Abraham lived this law.
Gal 4:4 says Jesus was born under the Law.... If you do the genealogy of Mary his mother then you will see!
Matthew 5:17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. 18 For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. (Jesus said he came to fulfill ALL of the laws and that it will not leave until heaven and Earth pass away) 19 So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. “Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law” (John7:19) Parable of the 10 virgins Matt 25 - Why are their 10 virgins going to a wedding?
God figuratively describes himself as having a polygamous relationship with Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 3:6–11 and Ezekiel 23:1–12.

Thus the Torah contains a few specific regulations that apply to polygamy, such as Exodus 21:10: "If he take another wife for himself; her food, her clothing, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish". Deut 21:15–17, states that a man must award the inheritance due to a first-born son to the son who was actually born first, even if he hates that son's mother and likes another wife more; and Deut 17:17 states that the king shall not have too many wives.
The Torah may distinguish concubines and "sub-standard" wives with the prefix "to" (e.g., lit. "took to wives"). Despite these nuances to the biblical perspective on polygamy, many important figures had more than one wife, such as in the instances of Esau (Gen 26:34; 28:6-9), Jacob (Gen 29:15-28), Elkanah (1 Samuel 1:1-8), David (1 Samuel 25:39-44; 2 Samuel 3:2-5; 5:13-16), and Solomon (1 Kings 11:1-3).
"Polygyny continued to be practiced well into the biblical period, and it is attested among Jews as late as the second century CE".[12]
There is evidence of the practice of polygamy in Palestinian Judaism in NT times (cf. J. Jeremias, Jerusalem in the Time of Jesus: An Investigation into Economic and Social Conditions during the New Testament Period, 1969, 90, 93, 369f.). Herod the Great (37-4 B.C.) had ten wives (Josephus, Ant. 17, 19f.; War 1,562) and a considerable harem (War 1,511). Polygamy and concubinage among the aristocracy is attested by Josephus, Ant. 12, 186ff.; 13, 380; War 1, 97. The continued practice of levirate marriage (Yeb. 15b) evidently led to polygamy, which was countenanced by the school of Shammai but not by that of Hillel. [NIDNTT:s.v. "When the Christian Church came into being through the catholic church enforcing it, polygamy was still practiced by the Jews but was slowly changed by the persecution of ROME. But the conclusion appears to be unwarranted. Josephus in two places speaks of polygamy as a recognized institution: and Justin Martyr makes it a matter of reproach to Trypho that the Jewish teachers permitted a man to have several wives. Indeed when in 212 A.D. the lex Antoniana de civitate gave the rights of Roman Citizenship to great numbers of Jews, it was found necessary to tolerate polygamy among them, even though it was against Roman law for a citizen to have more than one wife. In 285 A.D. a constitution of Diocletian and Maximian interdicted polygamy to all subjects of the empire without exception. But with the Jews, at least, the enactment failed of its effect; and in 393 A.D. a special law was issued by Theodosius to compel the Jews to relinquish this national custom.
